This year's holidays have been bittersweet for me. I lost my oldest sister, Joy Eleanor Winslow, in June 2022. Being the youngest sibling, I needed to gather everyone on Thanksgiving. I needed it. I needed to be around those I love. Losing someone close reminded me that every moment we have with one another should be cherished.
That led me to do something I had not done in over 15 years. I hosted Thanksgiving dinner for my siblings and our kids. I cooked the Turkey and all the fixings. All I wanted was for them to show up. Those that could come. I was so happy to have company in my home.
For Christmas, we gathered at my sister, Surreal's home. We were asked to represent the household by wearing Christmas PJs. We all complied. We ate! We fellowshipped! We watched football! And a few even cried. Why? Because the thought of Joy not being present was overwhelming.
Was it healthy? Yes!
With the world as crazy as it has been, we need to surround ourselves with as much love as possible. In #2022, I tried my best to do just that.
If, by chance, you are reading this post and have not had the opportunity to call a loved one or close friend, do so now. Call and say, I Love You. Life without love is no life.
Happy Holidays!

After looking at that feast, it makes me hungry all over again.
