GOLDEN NUGGET: "THE WHITE SLIP" Life is about the journey. On Tuesday, February 26, 2020, I went into Sam's Club after receiving a text message from my Club Manager to see if I could come in early for a Inventory Meeting. I was happy because I was due to work the 2 PM to 12 midnight shift. So I came in at 9 AM ready for the meeting. Then I received a phone call to come to the Club Manager's office. When I walked in, I took a seat. He pulled out a folder. He started reading the prepared letter that basically stated, "I have no job." I had heard through the gossip channels that the company maybe going to a flatter leaner management structure but nothing concrete. Catonsville, had 6 Assistant Salaried Managers, which I was one,. But, I beg to differ with that statement. Why? Because the Groom gets to go home with his bride.  As I prepared my dinner to eat before game time started, I really had no idea who would win. I listened to Fox Sports as they delivered the highlights. I listened to the differences between the teams and coaching staffs. I thought to myself will I be able to stay awake to see the entire game. Maybe or maybe not. But one thing for sure it will be a winning team at the end of the game.  I enjoyed seeing the great athletes and coaches being honored as a part of the 💯 year celebration. I thought what a honor.
